Submission guidelines
In order to qualify as a finalist, you will need to submit monthly photos and a video to prove the plant you started with is still alive 📷 If you become a finalist and you are either missing a submission or a submission is deemed illegal (disqualification rules coming on next email), you will be automatically DISQUALIFIED ❌
On your first submission (more instructions below), you will need to prove to us that your container has 16z or less by filling it with 2 measuring cups of media 🍶
On your second submission (more instructions below), you will need to prove to us that your plant is out of the ground and/or rooted by June 30th 🌱 If your seedling hasn’t sprouted or your clone taken root by June 30th, you will be disqualified from the finals 🥺
Video Submission Guidelines
– Videos must NOT be edited after shooting
– All videos must be taken in one shot, without pauses
– Only 1 video upload will be allowed per submission
– Videos must be 1080p or better (low-resolution videos will be disqualified)
– Videos must clearly show the plant, and the surrounding area must be well-lit
– AI-Generated videos automatically disqualify a competitor
– File formats: must upload videos in MP4/MPEG4 or MOV formats
Photo Submission Guidelines
– Photos must cover plant from front, back, and both sides, very clearly
– Photos may NOT be edited after shooting
– Photos must be 1080p resolution minimum (low-rez photos will be disqualified)
– Videos must be 1080p or better (low-resolution videos will be disqualified)
– AI-Generated images or videos automatically disqualify a competitor
– AI-Generated images automatically disqualify a competitor
– File formats: must upload photos in JPG/JPEG or PNG formats
Submission Portal
– Participants will be required to upload their photo and video submissions using the competition’s online submission portal, https://inboxes.pics.io/globalgrowcup. Competitors must enter their order number, email, and full name on every submission.
Privacy Policy
– All participants may consent to having their image and video submissions used by the partners for marketing purposes.
– All participants are allowed to share their images and videos of their competition plants online and on social media (they are not allowed to solicit votes if they become a finalist).
– Video and photo submissions will not be assessed during the competition. Rather, they will only be assessed at the end of the competition to determine a competitor’s eligibility to enter the finals and win the final prize. I.e. all submissions will be taken as is, and the Global Grow Cup Partners will not ask competitors to resubmit ineligible photos and videos.
– It is the sole responsibility of the competitor to make their submissions as per the guidelines. Competitors who make as much as 1 submission incorrectly will not be eligible to participate in the finals.
Submission #1: Proof of Volume
DUE JUNE 30, 2024 at 11:59pm EST
Step 1: Mark Container with Order Number
Purpose: to ensure the container you started with is the container you finish with. If you change containers during the competition, you are disqualified.
You MUST make a visible marking on the surface of your container with your order number, either with a permanent marker. You CANNOT erase and redo this marking during the competition, or it will be considered that you switched plants/container, and you will be disqualified.
Step 2: Prove Volume of Container
Purpose: to create a fair playing field by ensuring that every competitor is growing in a container no larger than 16oz
If you are using the BudCups™, you don’t need to show the volume since they are already 16oz. If not, you will need to use 2 measuring cups of (8oz/240ml) to fill your container with water, rice, sand, soil, or coco, and prove it is no larger than 16oz.
Make a single video showing all of the following:
– First, take a kitchen measuring cup, and show the volume marking on it to prove it is not larger than 8oz/237ml
– Second, take 2 cups of water, sand, rice, soil, or coco and filling your container with it

You must follow all video submission guidelines listed above
You are not allowed to overfill your measuring cups past the rim level.
You are not allowed to compress or shake the soil into your final container.
Your video must be shot in one continuous shot.
TIP: If your cup ends up being larger than 16oz, you can cut the rim off to the correct height. You must record your video again, after it is cut.
Take a single photo showing all of the following:
– Your FILLED container.
– Your order number marking.
– Your media filled to the top of the rim.

Submission #2: Proof of Birth
DUE JUNE 30, 2024 at 11:59pm EST
Purpose: to prove your seedling or cutting was born or took root between June 3rd and June 30th.
NOTE: You ARE allowed to start outside the cup and then transplant into it, as long as the final transplant is done prior to June 30, 2024.
Make a single video showing all of the following:
– Your container AND your seedling/clone within the first TWO weeks of it germinating/rooting.
– All sides of your container must be shown.
– Your order number marking must be shown.
– The bottom of your container must be shown (to prove no roots are growing outside).
– Upload your video by clicking HERE
You must follow all video submission guidelines listed above.
Your video must be shot in one continuous shot.
Take 4 photos showing all of the following:
– Seedling/clone from front, back, left, and right (1 photo for each angle).
– At least 1 photo must show your order number marking.
– At least 1 photo must show the bottom of your container (to prove no roots are growing outside).
– Upload your photos by clicking HERE
You must follow all photo submission guidelines listed above
Submission #3, #4, & #5: Proof of LIFE
DUE JULY 31st, AUGUST 31st, SEPTEMBER 30th, 2024 at 11:59pm EST
Purpose: to prove your plant is still alive. You are absolutely NOT allowed to use another plant if your original one died.
Note: if you are ready for your final submission before Aug 31 or Sep 30, you can skip submissions #4 & #5 and go straight to your final submission, which is listed below.
Make a single video showing all of the following:
– Your full container AND your full plant.
– All sides of your container must be shown.
– Your order number marking must be shown.
– The bottom of your container must be shown (to prove no roots are growing outside).
– Upload your video by clicking HERE
You must follow all video submission guidelines listed above.
Your video must be shot in one continuous shot.
Take 4 photos showing all of the following:
– Your plant from front, back, left, and right (1 photo for each angle).
– At least 1 photo must show your order number marking.
– At least 1 photo must show the bottom of your container (to prove no roots are growing outside).
– Upload your photos by clicking HERE
You must follow all photo submission guidelines listed above
FINAL Submission
DUE OCT 31st 2024 at 11:59pm EST
Purpose: to show 1. The size of your plant, 2. The size of your biggest bud, 3. The consistency of your buds, 4. The training method used, and 5. The rootball of your plant.
Note: if you are ready for your final submission before Aug 31 or Sep 30, you can skip submissions #4 & #5 and go straight to your final submission.
FINAL SUBMISSION MUST BE DONE BEFORE HARVESTING.
Make a single video showing all of the following:
– Your full container AND your full plant, showing the training technique you have used and the number of branches trained
– Your plant dimensions (width, height, depth) using a tape measure and aligning it with the plant to show the markings on the tape
– Your 5 biggest cola dimensions (width only) using a tape measure and aligning it with the thickest part of your colas
– Your rootball by pulling it out of your container and showing it all the way around in order to display how much roots you grew
– All sides of your container must be shown.
– Your order number marking must be shown.
– The bottom of your container must be shown (to prove no roots are growing outside).
– Upload your video by clicking HERE
You must follow all video submission guidelines listed above.
Your video must be shot in one continuous shot.
Take 8 photos showing all of the following:
– 4 photos of your full container AND your full plant, showing the training technique you have used and the number of branches trained
– 1 photo of your biggest cola dimension (width only) using a tape measure and aligning it with the thickest part of your cola
– 1 photo of your rootball outside of your container
– At least 1 photo must show your order number marking
– At least 1 photo must show the bottom of your container (to prove no roots are growing outside)
